Q: Are your on site echocardiogram programs legal, or can they be held as a Stark violation?
A: You are not referring patients to an outside company that you have ownership in, which is what Stark laws seek to prohibit

Q: Is it legal for a primary care physician to bill for a cardiac ultrasound?
A: You are leasing technicians and equipment to perform a test you, as a physician deemed medically necessary. The appropriateness of any test will depend on the circumstances, in most cases you are entitled to be reimbursed for the technical component of the diagnostic ultrasound provided it is medically necessary and properly supervised

Q: What do you mean by situational staffing?
A: We mean staffing that is required by a particular situation, such as when employment is needed due to vacation schedules, illness, maternity leave or other circumstances that require a temporary – but sustained – coverage. Typically it lasts a minimum of one week and can extend to several months, but is not considered a permanent opportunity.

Q: How do you screen candidates?
A: Applicants are screened initially by telephone and then in person by a Registered Technician, a Physician and or a Nurse and a professional Office Manager using several interviewing methodologies including technical Q and A and Behavior Based Interview models. Registry and professional designations are verified, and personal and professional references are checked. The same techniques and process are followed when MedAdvanced has been retained to search for a full time, permanent employee for your office or institution. Retained search candidates are also screened for the qualities, experience and qualifications you identify as the most important features in your environment. With over 70 years of combined experience in the Medical industry, our panel of experts works on your behalf before we ever present an applicant for your consideration.

Q: How will I know a per diem Sonographer from MedAdvanced will be able to fit into my organization?
A: We make every effort to learn as much about your needs as possible before we find the appropriate person. We also look for professionals who are flexible, friendly, and adaptable to changing circumstances as well as being clinically qualified.

Q: What kind of equipment do you bring to on-site engagements?
A: Our ultrasound instruments are all state of the art within their modality. For example, Cardiac Ultrasounds are currently performed utilizing the latest Siemens model.

Q: For diagnostic ultrasound: How many patients can you typically see during one office visit?
A: We can perform echoes every half hour, and typically schedule in four-hour blocks, from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm or from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm. Actual scheduling depends upon your needs. We always follow proper protocol for all procedure. Patient care is always our up-most concern.

Q: Are there any extra fees beyond the hourly lease and rental cost?
A: There are no hidden costs. All our fees are based on an hourly lease and rental agreement and are fully disclosed upfront.

Q: I am a newly graduated sonographer, so my resumé is pretty short. Is that a problem if I’m looking for a situational staffing position through MedAdvanced?
